Letters of Albert Shaw, 1892-1914, n.d.

In a November 8, 1892, letter, Shaw invites S.S. McClure to send a photograph of himself to be used in a future issue of the Review of Reviews. He also asks when he is going to announce his new magazine. In a March 16, 1907, letter, Shaw writes to W.O. Jones of the Nebraska State Journal of Lincoln, Nebraska, stating that he is pleased to learn of the "change in the Republican situation in Nebraska through the success of Sheldon and Brown" but regrets that he cannot come out to see the change for himself. He would like to quote in the Review from Jones's letter, without mentioning his name. In a May 22, 1914, letter, Shaw responds to Jones's letter of May 13 and says that he was invited some time ago to be the guest of Professor Barbour and will stay at his home. He will be a guest of a Mr. Whitten at the Commercial Club on either June 10 or 12. He has no other invitations than these and then will go back by way of Virginia and speak in Charlottesville the evening of June 15. In an undated letter to Mr. Phillips, Shaw tells Phillips that he is looking for an apartment and asks for advice between a flat or a small house. In an undated letter to Mr. McClure, Shaw writes a letter of introduction for Edgar Mels to McClure, suggesting that he could tell him about Napoleon III.
